Has negativity killed your happy?

What motivates you to keep going? What motivates you to get your butt out of bed in the morning to smash your goals? How easy is it for you to start something epic, only to throw in the towel before it even takes off? You believe in yourself enough to think you can, but your follow through sucks and that’s holding you back.

This week when I was blankly staring at a blinking cursor on my computer, I was totally stumped at what I wanted to talk about in this post. I’ve had this problem for a while, I’m at a loss when it comes to sharing content with you and it’s because I’ve been a little demotivated lately. It’s not that I don’t acknowledge how huge my goals are, or that I don’t want to strive for the best, but because I’ve forgotten that I’m totally worth it.

It’s Monday and the day when a lot of women start their new weight loss plans, but do you know how long they last? It takes an average of 8 weeks to start seeing results on a new plan, but the instant gratification in us all kicks in way before that does and we quit. Even I do this and I know better!

Then, we have something new to hold on to, a new failure that we can use to remind ourselves of and another way we can bring ourselves down for being human. It’s a never-ending cycle of crappy feelings and failing and what is the damn point? We are actually pretty simple creatures, us human-folk, we make a decision to change our lives and then we start thinking about achieving it. But we don’t create our own thought patterns, we are victims of circumstance and most of the time, that is a negative thing. We then try control how quickly we let negativity in, but more often than not we give in. It’s so much easier said than done, but that mindset is killing your dreams before they’ve even had the chance to thrive.

But, what can you do to change? What make you so special that you need something different in your life? Well to start with, you need to start being kinder to yourself. You need to stop being so hard on yourself and start believing that you are worthy. You are enough and you are so amazing that you don’t need negativity to rain down on your life.

Now, before you even start telling me about what you’ve been through in your life. Before you even pulled that damned victim card, I want you to remember one, tiny detail… you’ve survived.

Absolutely everything that you’ve been through, the earth shattering, heart-breaking moment in time that now defines who you are, the gut-wrenching incident that you use to bring yourself down and that you can’t let go of… you survived it.  You are alive and you are whole, you just need to start believing in it.

Believing in you.

Yes, everyone has their own level of life to deal with. Some people have it so much worse that I do, but I’ve had it a bit tougher than others. The thing though, I keep coming out of these things in one piece and so can you.

I’m pledging a month of positive whys. For the next 30 days, I’m going to write down positives that happen in life and I’m challenging you to do the same. If you’re in, comment below with HELL YES and let’s stop negativity from hijacking our happiness!

I’m on social media here and here.

Until next time.
