10 Changes for a Thomas Shelby 2019

After binging on Peaky Blinders for the first time, I went into 2019 with Thomas Shelby confidence in what my year will be.

I am now modelling my life around what I now call Thomas Shelby energy.

That’s the “Big Dick” energy of 2018, only bigger and badder (but, with less illegal gambling).

 
sarah-ball-370481We all want to make the most of a new year, it’s the permission we need to be the versions of ourselves that we wish to be. I won’t lie, I was the girl who was wishing for the 1st of January to roll around so that I could new me the shit out of 2019.
Well, friends, we are 4-days into 2019, are you a new person yet? I thought of easy ways to make changes in your life that will help you make the absolute most out of 2019. You can choose all 10, or pick a few to stick with. Whatever you choose, I hope you do try these as the foundation for a Thomas Shelby energy year.
 

1. Declutter your life

 
So, this is the part where I am the girl who tells you that if your one day jeans don’t fit you yet, you don’t need to keep them. Decluttering your life is easier than you think, too! I set out to do this over the December break but didn’t get to as much as I wanted to. What I did get to, made me realize that I horde a lot of stuff. Unnecessary stuff! I need to tackle my wardrobe soon, but I know that one of my goals for 2019 is fat loss. I need to be patient while I’m on my health journey. I have so many stunning items in size 10 that I have NEVER worn, so best believe that I want to wear these clothes soon!
 

2. Regular Sleeping Pattern

I love to sleep and I love naps. I don’t love feeling tired in the morning after a good night sleep that should have left me feeling refreshed. It was around this time that I decided to change my night time routine to make the most of my zzzz’s. To start with, I switch my phone off at 20h00 (and try to keep it off). If I don’t do this, I end up aimlessly 
scrolling through social media until 22h00.
 
I have a warm shower or bath at least 30 minutes before I climb into bed, where I read a few pages of a book. This has not only helped me feel more productive, but I feel really great the next morning.
 

3. Healthy Eating

 
This goes hand in hand with one of my main goals for 2019. I want to make veganism cool and not just a meme people share on Facebook. I love how healthy I’ve been since making the switch to vegan and I’ll be working hard on making that a focal point of my health journey for 2019. Whatever your eating habits are, make sure you’re eating 80% healthy, 20% fun in 2019.
 

4. Meditate

 
I started meditating at the end of 2017 and can honestly say that it worked wonders for me in 2018. Even though I don’t meditate nearly as much as I should, it is a game changer for stress. My 2019 aim is to meditate more, mindlessly scroll the internet less.
 

5. Working Out

Endorphins. Endorphins. Endorphins! Getting stronger, healthier, and happier and drop a few pants sizes in the process? I mean, why wouldn’t you want to work out more in 2019?
 

6. Journal

 
I started this in 2018, I really found it therapeutic to journal my hope and thoughts. I don’t journal daily yet, but I do love having my journal on hand to scribble my thoughts and intentions for the day.
 

7. Social Media Cleanse

 
I feel like I’ve already spoken about this in length. I’m over social media and the way we’ve become shells of the people we could be because we’re lost in a scroll. I’m addicted to social media, but I know it’s awful. I’ve started my cleanse by uninstalling the apps from my phone. I work with social media and still have Instagram on my phone, but only because it is an entirely mobile app.

8. Reaffirm your intentions and goals 

Do you vision board? What about using a Universe box? I love to write out my goals and intentions for each month and enjoy seeing my goals in writing. For 2019, I’d like to be more intentional and mindful about completing my goals. Here is the perfect vision board how-to.
 

9. List things you would like to do

 
This could be considered the same as point 8, but I assure you that it isn’t. Think of this as your 2019 bucket list, the things you want to do that will light up your life and your Instagram feed. This is the year that I will have a month long, beach holiday without working at all (this hasn’t happened in 4-years). My bucket list also includes weekend breaks with my husband and time with Riley. I want this to be the start of the connected Cashe.
 

10. Spending time with people that you love

Riley is now a proper 12-year-old and I am obsessed with my kid. I can’t believe that people complain about puberty, because it’s turned my kid into the best person ever. I’m not holding my breath that this will last, but while it does, I’m loving spending time with him. Board games, Xbox explanations and Marco Polo in the pool. My December was the start of a new relationship with my son, and I’m so excited for more time with him.
